Dogs in the Uncompahgre (and Lene)

View from our bedroom

This is the view of the Cimmarons from our bedroom. We get beautiful sunsets in the west and these mountains in the east have a wonderful aplenglow.

We've settled in

We've just about settled in here in Ridgway, Colorado. We bought a home in April and we think we've finally got everything moved down here from Telluride and more or less unpacked.

Note to the wise: DO NOT accumulate junk and stuff. Throw it away now.

Note the the kids: We're going to drop your stuff off very soon.

Ridgway is about midway between Telluride and Montrose so we are centrally located for our business. We live on Log Hill Mesa in a development of about 200 homes - most with 2-5 acres of land. We've already seen lots of deer and a couple of bears. The neighbor up the street saw a mountan lion in his driveway last night (6/29/07)
Population of Ridgway is 700. Elevation in the town is 6,985 feet. We're at 8,000 feet.

We have a beautiful view of the Cimmaron Mountain Range from our house. The Sneffles Range, with three 14,000 + ft. peaks, is around the corner.
The Uncompaghre River flows through town on its way from the glaciers above Ouray to the Colorado River. World class kayaking and fly fishing.

Link to the Ridgway cam located about a half mile from our home. The camera is at Inspiration Point on the Escarpment. We took the family up there when everyone was here for Chritian's gradyation.
